From 1892 to 2006! No, no we're not just a 49 year-old lady (we were 'older' than the Old Lady of Turin, Juventus, i.e.). In fact we are very much older (and matured, hopefully it stays that way) as a civilisation.

So here's one for you, my beloved tanah tumpah darahku:

D I R G A H A Y U  M A L A Y S I A

Thanks Messrs. Gleearch and Alibob....

Appreciate your comments very much. They are authentic and original documents..... have posted once on eBay but nobody responded. So I'll keep it as a 'pusaka'.

I personally think we Malaysians in general have short memories and seem to not value history, our very own history (better still if written by fellow Malaysians - but alas its not forthcoming in the real sense of the word!)

Lets collect whatever had been written about our country, and from thereon attempt to write/rewrite our own history.... I believe academics can play an important role here. Do write your theses/dissertations on Malaysian history - and post them on the net - for all of us to share and learn for the betterment of future generations.

TQ.

Dear Mr Arifin,

I think it is awesome for someone like yourself help putting up the old Malaysian stories and pictures for the locals and also for the world to see or read.  You saw something there where no one else had seen it.  I thank you for your hard work for putting oldies up.  I enjoyed and appreciate oldies a lot.  The printing looked authentic and original documents/books written by then English man/woman.  There are so fun to read and compared to today's writting, we have no soul in the writting.

Thanks for posting those. Nice graphics.
At least it keeps it in the public domain for all to see and treasure.

Dear fellow Malaysians everywhere...

Here's something down memory lane.... lest we forget. Its nice for us to value our past, live harmoniously today and chart a rosier future for our next generation... have a peep at these two links:

NOTE:   The only other source (I have come across) of this Malaysiana memorabilia is in Cornell University library! Even our National Museum doesn't have it?????

God bless Malaysia.... and Malaysia Boleh!
