Gavin,

I have to say congratulations to you on your success on establishing this website. However, in the midst of all the claps, I have a problem for you to solve. How can I be an authorized member so that all that I post will be published? Thanks for helping. Hope to see more diversity in topics.

I happened to read star online and found out about this forum. This is a great service provided by Star and I like to thank you. To make it a serious forum and to weed out the undesirables, I hope there is a way to screen them out. Maybe, do it like Ebay whereby each account holder will have a percentage rating or something like that. I hope to use this forum to exchange ideas and help each other. Thanks.

No worries about us Malaysian feeling restricted Gavin. For those who are familiar to internet forums, rules and regulations are more or less standard and definitely much needed for proper control. The rules set herein are practical as the forum should be a platform to share views, experiences, enlarging the Malaysian network and not for propoganda of any kind.

Being very familiar with forums there will however be times when issues raised may be misconstrued, or personal agendas will be disguised as something else. It is with the hope that this forum will have open minded and yet firm administrators and moderators to ensure that topics, threads and posts will be allowed the freedom of speech and yet controlled for the long term interests of this great portal to be.

It is indeed very exciting and I believe we are all looking forward to more Malaysians across the world joining this community.

Syabas and God Bless this forum and everyone!

A warm welcome to all new members of the Global Malaysians Network! Thank you for signing up as a member of this exciting network aimed at connecting Global Malaysians worldwide .

I am pleased to serve as your e-community administrator and also as a friend. Like any other communities, we need to observe some ground rules in order to enjoy courteous and friendly conversations.

Global Malaysians Network e-Community etiquette:

  • Contributions must be civil and tasteful
  • Avoid offensive language and behaviour (being courteous might even win you some secret admirers here, who knows?)
  • Avoid unlawful or objectionable content e.g. defamatory, abusive, threatening, obscene, sexually oriented, racially or religiously offensive material (self-restrain is a Jedi's art!)
  • No advertising (you might want to leave direct selling advertisement to your own personal messages). But we welcome members to place banner ads on the website. Yes, it is not free.
  • No spamming or off-topic material
  • Strict no-no to impersonation. If you insist, we can introduce you to the Malaysian Idol organiser for a better use of your talent.
  • Please report to us abuse by another user. However, make sure your report is genuine

I hope you do not feel restricted over these rules and regulations. The basic idea is to make everyone in this network feels comfortable and welcomed. I look forward to hear from you.
