Gavin,

I am talking about the kampong durians, where you build a hut under the durian trees during durian season.

Wait for the durian to fall and go look for it in the middle of the night with a flashlight.

Man, I miss those yummy durians that are not genetically engineered.

But I will take a rain-check on your durian offer.

I went back to KL in Dec 2004 and cannot afford the November 2005 trip.  Got to save some duit lah!

Keep up the good work

Hey there Gavin

Good job in making this network work.

I too like the idea of cheaper plane tickets...and of course, great malaysian food at the gathering. WOOHOO.
Durian, assam laksa, curry mee, nasi lemak, yong tau foo, char kwey teow, popiah, rojak, teh tarik, cendol, ABC, kuih-muih..,...*slurp. Saliva dripping. hahahaha

Participation of the Prime Minister is also a very good idea. good good
Woah....I'm excited already!

Oh...what about a tour around the city? Many of us hasn't been back to Malaysia for quite some time. I myself, had a hard time imagining the roads, highways and landmarks whenever my sister try to tell me where she went and which highway/short cut she took to go here and there. AIYAH

Alrighty. Congrats again Gavin.

Dear members,

Thanks for your suggestions. Yes, we are considering all your suggestions. We will help you to work out good rates with MAS and also some hotels here.

A Malaysian organisation from Sdyney was here in our office this morning to discuss potential collaboration. Things are looking good. We have a draft outline of the programme already and will post it on this website for you to respond.

Yes, Global Malaysians who have stamped their mark overseas will be speaking. Tash Aw, an aspiring writer based in UK, was here too and he will come back for the November 'fly back'.

Some will also be invited to perform It will not be just talk, talk and talk. But we will also entertain you and your family. So watch out for more here!

< language=> i must say this is an applaudable suggestion.. i m feeling great on this GlobalMalaysian Network.. Lets hope this event will not be like malaysia's political broadcasting that die after supports is gained.

*I would think that a seminar with prominent overseas malaysian, disregard age and profession to speak their opinion and contribution would be a great showcase to the determination of global Malaysian elites.

**if possible, a participation of our Prime Minister would be a great boost of confidence to us. ( i painstakingly missed his visit to Sydney early this year calling malaysian home. he was at The Rocks... so close.. argh!)

***perhaps a life broadcast of the event to the general public to show the commitment and what Malaysian can achieve competently around the world. Nothing is better to build confidence among our countrymen.

**** Malaysian airline idea raised was a good one!

Maybe i m overspilling suggestions.. haha..stop here.

Gavin>

How about getting in touch with Malaysia Airline offices or travel agencies owned by Malaysians abroad to offer value discounted tickets to Malaysians residing in overseas in order to encourage them to "fly back"? I would definitely if there was such an offer...

Cheers

Moon in Tokyo and Beijing~~

Sure you don't miss laksa, char koay teow, nasi lemak and other local delicacies as well?

Durians are cheap these days. We can find many by the road side. We do not mind offering you a durian treat if you visit us at the Menara Star in Petaling Jaya.

Send us some suggestions and views on how to make the 'fly back' event interesting and fun.

Dear members,

Our secretariat is planning to organise an inaugural 'fly back' event sometime in November 2005.

This is an opportunity for Malaysians abroad and locally and friends of Malaysia to meet one another to share experiences and information.

If you are currently overseas, how can we make this event attractive and interesting enough that you would want to 'fly back' to participate in it? Let me know your views and suggestions.

Those who are interested to be part of the organising team can contact me personally.

Thanks.
